Casio calculator, 1997

This scientific calculator was used for my A Level exams in 1999.

I was also offered a graphic calculator, which could draw graphs on its screen. This was high tech in the late 90s, but I refused it because I liked working out how the graphs of equations should look. Using a calculator felt like I was denying my brain a challenge that would stretch it in interesting ways. I spent a lot of time drawing graphs on paper, including the graphs of imaginary logarithms.

The battery of the calculator no longer works.
