Protective charm, unknown date

I picked up this charm at the wonderful Witchcraft Museum in Iceland’s Westfjords. It’s above my desk, making sure no harm comes to my computer or my work. I visited the Witchcraft Museum in 2006, on a quest to follow in the footsteps of Viking explorer Erik the Red. Thanks to the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust for funding that endeavor: it certainly made me braver and madder than I hoped I’d ever become.

The book of my bewildered wanderings across Viking Europe is available from The Caper Press. While you wait for it to arrive, you can carry out primary school activities or listen to extracts below.
