Protective charm, unknown date

I picked up this charm at the wonderful Witchcraft Museum in Iceland’s Westfjords. It’s above my desk, making sure no harm comes to my computer or my work. I visited the Witchcraft Museum in 2006, on a quest to follow in the footsteps of Viking explorer Erik the Red. Thanks to the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust for funding that endeavor: it certainly made me braver and madder than I hoped I’d ever become.

The book of my bewildered wanderings across Viking Europe is seeking a publisher. Meanwhile, you can carry out primary school activities or listen to extracts below.
