I promised a stranger that I would put on a family learning event called Festival of Triangles in an empty shop in Walthamstow.
My friend Lucy Carruthers had the idea of making triangles from drinking straws. I did. Then I made tetrahedrons and icosahedrons. With some other colaborators, I used the shapes to decorate the shop; then we discovered that children wanted to make them; then we set up a charity called Maths on Toast to make maths family fun.
The rest is better explored through the Maths on Toast website.
